Metropolitan Furniture started in 1921 as a small, 900 square foot store in Wyandotte, Michigan. We sold a limited amount of furniture, hand-cranked washing machines, pots, and pans, etc. Over the years our showroom grew and eventually, we moved to Allen Park. Currently, our showroom is 32,000 square feet and showcases furniture and accessories for every room of your home.

Our mission is to make quality affordable and therefore we strive to work with only the best furniture manufactures, such as Flexsteel, Marshfield, Craftmaster, Hammary, and more. We ensure that a focus on quality is extended to every piece, from your dining room table, to your living room sectional to even the artwork and lighting you use to put the finishing touches on your space.

Large Selection of American-Made, Solid Wood Furniture

Because of the longevity of solid wood furniture, we’ve dedicated over 15,000 square feet of space to showcase lines of dining room, bedroom, and occasional furniture. We work with many Amish craftsmen in Indiana and Ohio that offer furniture in a wide range of styles so you are sure to find an option that suites your space. Also, our Amish products offer a wide range of customizations, from size and wood type to stain sand hardware, so you can truly make your piece your own. We also offer solid wood furniture from other major manufactures, such as Durham Furniture and John Thomas. In our showroom we have several Durham Furniture Bedroom sets on display as well as a great selection of dining room furniture from John Thomas.

Our desire is to make purchasing furniture for your home as easy and stress-free as possible. When you enter our store you will be greeted by a staff member who will be happy to answer any questions or direct you to an area if you are looking for something specific. After that you will be free to browse at your leisure. A staff member will check on you after a bit to make sure you don’t have any questions or you are happy to flag one of us down. Our staff is here to help and will not use any high pressure sales tactics. Our goal is to help you find the perfect piece(s) for your home and understand if we don’t have anything that suits you needs.
